  2. Clients are responsible for ensuring the confidentiality of their account information and are obligated to notify IES/Cyberschool promptly of any unauthorized use of their account.

  3. IES/Cyberschool offers notification gateway services for clients to send and receive notifications. Clients acknowledge and agree to use these services in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  4. Clients using IES/Cyberschool's services are responsible for obtaining necessary consents and permissions from end users who will receive notifications through the gateway.

  5. All content and materials available on the website are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale, create derivative works, or in any way exploit any of the content.

  6. IES/Cyberschool shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

  7. These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of California, United States. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.

Harrisonburg City Public Schools uses social media platforms to share information about our schools and educational programs. The following social media terms and conditions apply to any official HCPS social media page, including official social media pages of any of its schools. These terms and conditions provide anyone who chooses to communicate with Harrisonburg City Public Schools via its official social media platforms with guidelines for engagement.

Please note that public comments posted on our social media pages may not be regularly monitored; therefore, we encourage anyone with specific questions or concerns involving a school matter to contact their school or our Central Office. Public comments expressed on HCPS social media pages do not reflect the opinions and position of the Harrisonburg City School Board, HCPS, and its schools, officers and employees.

Harrisonburg City Public Schools considers its social media platforms to be a limited public forum. Recognizing that students use and access official HCPS social media platforms, we expect those who engage and comment on HCPS social media platforms to serve as role models to students and engage in civil, appropriate commentary. As a result, HCPS reserves the right to remove or hide comments/content that includes, but is not limited to:
 

  • comments or content that is not topically related to the particular posting; 
  • individually identifiable student or personnel information; 
  • copyrighted material posted without permission; 
  • confidential material; 
  • spam, advertising, or commercial solicitations or information; 
  • spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly; 
  • obscene, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, violent, threatening, vulgar, hateful, or sexual language or material; 
  • name calling and/or personal attacks; 
  • advocating the commission of a criminal act or violating HCPS policies and regulations; 
  • off-topic or disruptive remarks


We reserve the right to keep comments closed on posts that are solely informational in nature, such as school closing announcements, registration notices, etc.  We also reserve the right to temporarily block or ban users whose posts or comments on HCPS social media pages fall within the above categories. HCPS will not remove content simply because it disagrees with the user’s viewpoint or the user criticizes HCPS.
