The Re-Envisioning CTE Advisory Committee is a temporary committee established by the Superintendent in the fall of 2025. Its primarily task is to craft recommendations to the School Board on which career and technical education (CTE) programs should be prioritized for expansion in the coming years, particularly in light of the MTC Dispute that led to HCPS' upcoming withdrawal from the current regional technical center.
The committee includes a variety of perspectives including school staff, School Board members, local business and industry partners, local higher education providers, and the Harrisonburg Economic Development office. HCPS Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards is the chair of the committee.
The running agenda for the committee is posted online, and includes links to the various data sources that the committee is considering.
