Student Economics Store at SES

First graders at Spotswood Elementary learn about goods and services as part of their Social Studies curriculum.  Students were asked to create something to sell or to provide a service.  Parents, students and other SES faculty then had the opportunity to buy with simulated money provided by the classroom teacher.

The goods created and sold ranged from bookmarks, bracelets, popcorn, necklaces, books, magnets and trail mix.  Services included manicures, back massages, dance lessons, and wagon rides.  For three cents, Mrs. Conners was taken on a long ride down the first grade hallway.
